Birmingham City last night sacked Steve Cotterill and it appears Garry Monk is set to land the job at St. Andrew's in the coming days.

Cotterill left after a fifth successive defeat at Nottingham Forest yesterday that keeps Blues in the relegation zone and two points from safety.

Immediately after his departure, several news reports, including the Telegraph, revealed that Monk would be taking over and bringing in his former assistant Pep Clotet with him.

The pair worked together successfully at Leeds United last year before the Spaniard left to become manager at Oxford at the start of the current campaign, whilst Monk had moved on to Middlesbrough.

However, both were sacked in recent months and are set to be reunited in the second city.

If everything is finalised in the coming days, as expected, Monk's first game will be against Boro on Tuesday night.

Here's how fans reacted to the potential appointment...
