Sheffield Wednesday striker Jordan Rhodes' current contract at the Yorkshire club is set to expire this summer and many Owls fans have been discussing why things haven't worked out for him at Hillsborough.

The 30-year-old arrived from Middlesbrough in 2017 for a club-record fee of £10 million.

Rhodes' record in the EFL was undeniable at the time, having scored more than 20 Championship goals in three consecutive seasons between 2012 and 2015, but he hasn't had the impact he or the club would've been hoping he would.

The striker has made 70 appearances for Wednesday, scoring just 13 times, and never looking the prolific goalscorer they appeared to have signed.

After he helped Norwich City win the division at a canter last season, there would likely have been hope that he would return from the loan revitalised and get back to his best this term.

That hasn't happened. Rhodes has featured 15 times so far and, other than a first-half hat-trick against Nottingham Forest, has failed to score once.

His contract is set to expire this summer and you'd imagine the Owls are unlikely to look to extend it.
