Charlton Athletic have set their sights on Norwich City forward Adam Idah on a loan deal until the end of the season, according to London News Online.

The 18-year-old has made four appearances for the Canaries' senior squad so far this season, but attracted attention after netting a hat-trick against Preston North End in Norwich's third round FA Cup win against the Lancashire side.

Journalist Richard Cawley broke the news on Friday morning:

Born in Cork, Idah is also a Republic of Ireland Under-21 international, representing his country at that age group a total of eleven times, scoring four goals.

A potential deal for the 18-year-old draws parallels with Conor Gallagher's loan spell during the first half of the season, who also had minimal experience of senior football under his belt, but turned out to be an excellent addition.
