Hull City are unlikely to pursue a permanent move for Marcus Maddison this summer.

Maddison linked up with the Tigers on the back of an impressive opening to the season with Peterborough United in League One, with the playmaker registering 15 goal involvements.

Yet, he’s struggled to replicate that for at the KCOM, scoring only one goal in seven appearances as Hull have slumped into a relegation battle.

Now, a report from the Hull Daily Mail has been looking at Maddison’s future, stating that the pay packet the Tigers might have to stump up might potentially urge them away from a deal – the club have already had to pay a six-figure sum for the loan service of the 26-year-old.

The view of many Hull fans echoes the report, with plenty of people stating that Maddison isn’t worth pushing the boat out financially.
