Blackburn Rovers' form so far this season has been particularly up and down so far.

Despite winning their opening three games of the season, Rovers have since gone on to win another but also lose four.

As it stands, they sit seventh in the league which isn't bad at all.

However, if Jon Dahl Tomasson's side want to be at the top end of the table as the season continues they will have to find some consistency in their performances to get results.

With that in mind, we asked FLW's Blackburn Rovers fan pundit Toby Wilding  which player he thinks has been most underwhelming this season: "It's one of those, maybe it's a bit harsh to say one particular player has underwhelmed. I think more or less every player in the squad has had good moments and bad moments already during the campaign.

"Maybe if there is one I'll perhaps have to go for maybe John Buckley.

"I think in the centre of midfield we haven't quite seen the creativity and the tenacity that made him such an important player and first team regular for Blackburn last season.

"But obviously it's worth noting that even within that that he's still young and still in the very early stages of his career and certainly there's no doubting the ability he has from what we've seen before. But certainly his form hasn't been up to what we have previously seen in the past.

"We would expect, as a I say, with what's to come from him that he will rediscover that at some point with a new five year contract that he's just signed is a big show of faith in him from the club.

"So yeah, still a high quality player not quite producing what we have been accustomed to from him in the past and you would expect there's more to come form him this season and beyond."

The Verdict:

The club clearly have plenty of faith in Buckley to have a strong career having just got the player on a lengthy contract.

However, so far this season the 22-year-old probably hasn't shown as much as he would've hoped as he is yet to contribute to any goals for his side so far this season.

Last season, Buckley got three goals and seven assists so we know he has the ability to contribute to his side's attacking threat and help them achieve success at the top end of the pitch.

Therefore, the midfielder will be looking to find his form again so he can reach the same heights which are somewhat of an expectation for him now.
