Barnsley’s start to life under Daniel Stendel has been pretty impressive, with the club in contention to make an instant return to the second-tier of English football.

2019 will hopefully be the year the club earn the promotion they want, but they will have to do it the hard way, without the influential Brad Potts.

Today, the Tykes have confirmed that the 24-year-old has left for Preston North End, who have reportedly parted with a club-record fee to bring the midfielder on board.

Potts had scored six goals and registered five assists in 22 appearances this season, proving to be extremely productive for Stendel in the third-tier.

Of course, Barnsley’s supporters are craving promotion back to the Championship, but aren’t impressed by this latest transfer decision, with many fuming with the club following such a high-profile departure.
