A number of Sheffield United supporters have bemoaned the performance of forward David McGoldrick following the Blades’ goalless draw away at Swansea City on Saturday.
Slavisa Jokanovic’s side were aiming to get their season off and running and respond to last weekend’s opening day defeat against Birmingham City.
However, the Blades were unable to produce enough moments of quality in the final third both with their chance creation and finishing when they did get one or two opportunities in front of goal.
McGoldrick started the game playing off Billy Sharp with the forward getting the chance to impress Jokanovic once again after he had started their opening day loss to Birmingham City as well.
The 33-year-olf though struggled to really make much of a positive influence on the game with him only having 35 touches of the ball throughout the 90 minutes.
McGoldrick did get on the ball in some promising positions in the final third, but he was guilty of firing presentable chances well off the target as he spurned some of the Blades’ best opportunities to win the game.

Sheffield United needed more out of McGoldrick in the final third when he had the chances to finish and as a result, they were unable to pick up what could have been a morale-boosting three points.
Many Sheffield United supporters bemoaned the 33-year-old’s lack of end product in the final third and there were one or two who suggested the Blades need to move on in terms of having him start regularly for them.
Here, we take a look at some of the reactions on social media…
Far far far from convincing. Mcgoldrick way too wasteful – should of won us the game 3x over despite it being poor. Rather see brewster central with bogle wide.
Hope we look a different side with a new CM or 2 and davies at back

Mcgoldrick miles off it, he's never been a finisher but what he usually does well he isn't even producing that either

McGoldrick ineffective yet again.

Time to move some players on and freshen up. McGoldrick slows the game down and wastes too many chances. Norwood doesn’t really have an impact anymore. No creativity. Berge doesn’t seem up for it. Defensively solid. Stuck with a losing mentality. Brewster thru the middle. #SUFC

Can’t believe the absolute state of McGoldrick’s finishing. Sends every shot from outside the area out the ground & every 1 on 1 straight at the keeper

3 worse players tonight by a mile were Berge, McGoldrick & Osborne

Come on Alan we have no quality in the Final third. McGoldrick not performing. As much as I admire what he has done hdd we is not the answer this year.
