Preston North End winger Brad Potts signed fresh terms at Deepdale yesterday evening, extending his stay in Lancashire to 2024.
The 27-year-old, who had entered the final year of his stay with Frankie McAvoy’s side with his previous contract, first arrived at the second-tier side from current Championship rivals Barnsley in January 2019.
At the time, he joined for a reported club-record fee, signing a three-and-a-half-year deal at Deepdale and being a first-team regular in the past two seasons under McAvoy and his predecessor Alex Neil.
Quiz: Are these 22 Preston North End stats real or fake?
After making a respectable 32 league appearances for the Lilywhites in his first season at the club, he went on to record an impressive 42 displays in the second tier last term, recording seven goals and two assists during these two years.
Despite not being able to match the 11 goal contributions he produced in 22 appearances for Barnsley in his last season at Oakwell, the former England youth international has been handed a new contract by the club with his current boss labelling him as a ‘valuable member of the squad’.

He was the second Preston man to put pen to paper on a new deal yesterday, joining Jordan Storey who extended his stay with the Lilywhites until 2025.
Focusing more on Potts though, who has endured a mixed spell in Lancashire, we take a look at how many Preston North End fans have reacted to this latest development.
Not overly convinced by this but likely offers more to the club than being sold for pittance or being released, there's worse options to have around https://t.co/bis1BPajiM

Big fan of Pottsy. Lots of energy, high shot volume per 90 and is good at linking play. He gets a lot of stick and isn’t a player that folk like which is fine but another one for me who has earned this new deal. Thoroughly deserved. 👏🏻 #pnefc https://t.co/LvVYKbDOZK

How has he managed this? No desire and can’t do the basics well. Poor choice to extend his contract. https://t.co/WhzhjvzMCx

The comments on here 😂😂😂.Not the biggest fan, and had a fair few moments calling him, but a decent squad player at Championship level, who can play all over the top end of the park. https://t.co/74kz3ILcW4
