With not long to go before the summer transfer window draws to an end, Leeds United have a lot to work with following the recent departure of talisman Chris Wood to Burnley.

The New Zealand international scored 30 goals in all competitions for the Whites last term, in a campaign where Garry Monk's men narrowly missed out on a Championship playoff spot.

New boss Thomas Christiansen, though, has made a great start to his managerial career at Elland Road; the Yorkshire club remain unbeaten after 4 league games, winning twice and drawing twice too.

However, whilst the signings of Samuel Saiz and Ezgjan Alioski look shrewd acquisitions for United, the need to replace Wood is a must, as well as strengthening in other areas too.

With that being said, here FLW writer George Harbey identifies TWO players that Christiansen must look to sign before the window closes in just under a fortnight...

Benik Afobe

Whilst the club have been linked with the names of Preston's Jordan Hugill and Middlesbrough's Rudy Gestede in recent days, there should only be one forward on Christiansen's radar, and that man is Benik Afobe.

In and out of the AFC Bournemouth starting eleven, the 24-year old has made just 28 starting appearances for the Cherries, netting 10 times.

The former Arsenal striker's most prolific form came in 2014/15, where the pacey striker netted 19 times in 30 games on loan at MK Dons in League 1, before capping off a move to Wolves with a further 13 goals to his name that season.

The striker was infact the joint highest goalscorer in England in that campaign, alongside Harry Kane with 32 goals to their name in all competitions.

With £15 million at their disposal, Leeds can no doubt tempt the Cherries into letting Afobe come to Elland Road...

Robert Snodgrass

Although Leeds' midfield is already blessed with quality, Christiansen cannot afford to let the opportunity to bring Snodgrass back to Elland Road slip from his grasp.

The West Ham playmaker only arrived at the London Stadium in January of this year following the departure of Dimitri Payet to Marseille, but the Scottish international is surplus to requirements under Hammers boss Slaven Bilic.

Aston Villa are understood to be interested in the 29-year old, however due to Financial Fair Play regulations, the Midlands club can only look to sign the winger on loan, and Leeds should definitely look to capitalise.

Snodgrass made 168 appearances for Leeds between 2008 and 2012, netted 35 times in the process, and would be a shrewd addition for the club.
