Ian Holloway will be hoping for a busy end to January but is well aware that the clubs financial situation means players will have to go out before any come in.

The R’s have had a tough season so far, although there have been some memorable moments. They have defeated leaders Wolves and high-flying Cardiff and Sheffield United at Loftus Road in the past few months.

However, even a crucial 3-1 win at Burton earlier in the month won’t have convinced fans that they are set for another season in the second tier, although new faces arriving would help.

As mentioned though, Holloway is going to have to wheel and deal in the coming days and that means shipping a few players out.

Here we look at two who could depart the Londoners before the deadline shuts.

Idrissa Sylla

The Guinea forward hasn’t been used by Ian Holloway since December and the fact the boss prefers younger, untried players says a lot.

Sylla has a decent pedigree and is one of few players that the R’s could command a reasonable fee for, which would come very handy to Holloway.

The former Anderlecht man had a pretty good debut season in England but failed to kick on in this campaign, scoring just four goals from 21 league appearances.

Therefore, it’s best to move him on and try to bring in a better replacement.

Ryan Manning

Manning leaving QPR wouldn’t have to happen for financial reasons but instead to give the youngster game time.

The R’s don’t have a big squad at all and there are very few who have been rarely used this season but Manning is one. The 21-year old has played just two minutes of football since late November in what is the busiest time of the season.

After breaking into the side last year, the Ireland U21 international hasn’t developed as many would’ve hoped, including Holloway.

Whilst he still has the potential to improve, a loan move would benefit his career significantly, giving him the chance to play regularly and show his ability regularly.

That could benefit QPR in the summer, when Manning will hopefully come back a much-improved player ready to claim a first-team spot.
