In the modern day, with news and information available quickly and instantly disposable, club announcements are consumed by supporters.

Whether it's a transfer, a ticket announcement or a new kit reveal, everyone can have their say. It's often much like a child at Christmas with presents, gobbling up one announcement and asking for another before they've finished the first.

It can be a brutal environment, especially when the news isn't all good. An underwhelming signing or a player departure can leave fans feeling short-changed whereas twenty years ago they had to wait for a local paper to be disappointed.

Back then they could only complain to a few mates down the pub, now their thoughts are out there immediately.

Swindon Town have felt this to a degree with the release of their new away kit this morning. They're playing in grey for the first time in their history and have proudly displayed the shirt on Twitter for their fans to get excited about, or not as the case may be.

The rather bland shirt has split supporters, with some liking the design and others not quite as keen. You can see the best of their responses below.
