Lewis Baker is a player with big shoes to fill with Samuel Saiz set to depart Elland Road to return to Spain as the January transfer window edges ever-closer.
The Chelsea loanee was handed a start for Marcelo Bielsa’s side in their game against Bolton this afternoon, but he struggled for large parts of the game and was eventually substituted at half-time.
His replacement, Jack Clarke made a positive impact, as Leeds ran out 1-0 winners against the relegation threatened Trotters.
The win means Leeds are now top of the Championship table, but Norwich City could return to the summit with a win over Bristol City this evening.
But the main talking point amongst Leeds supporters was Baker’s disappointing performance against Phil Parkinson’s side.
Bielsa is unlikely to give Baker the chance of more regular football after failing to make an impact for Leeds on Saturday afternoon.
How did Leeds supporters react to Baker’s underwhelming showing?

He looked totally lost in midfield

Time to go for him.

No surprise there. Woeful.

Baker disappointing again but not really any worse than most that first half. Shame for him because he won’t get many more chances to stake a claim. #lufc

I’m sorry but Lewis Baker is nowhere near good enough! I was excited by him, but he’s just not good enough. #LUFC

Lewis Baker unable to take his opportunity. Benched forever now. #lufc
