Change appears to be on the horizon at Sunderland, with the news having filtered through via the Northern Echo earlier today that big adjustments are expected to be made at boardroom level over the coming weeks.
Juan Sartori and Kyril Louis-Dreyfus appear set to ring the changes at the North East club once their takeover of the Black Cats is completed as they seek to secure promotion on the field of play for an outfit that has underachieved significantly during the past few campaigns.
Stuart Donald and Charlie Methven are expected to retain their stakes as part of the deal, with the duo seemingly keen to stick around for the long haul at the Stadium of Light.
Quiz: Did these 17 Sunderland players ever actually score a league goal for the club?
However, it is the news regarding the fate of manager Phil Parkinson that has got tongues waggling amongst the club’s fanbase, with many taking to Twitter to vent their frustrations following journalist Scott Wilson’s post earlier today…
That would indicate that the “takeover” is little more than shuffling the deck. Why any new owner, or any present owner who was competent would see Parkinson as the way forward is sickening

Phil Parkinson staying in charge means that any changes that are made above him won’t even matter anyway. He needs to go. Seems a good bloke, but a dinosaur football manager

So Phil Parkinson and Jim Rodwell stay. The ‘major changes’ sound like they are mostly the possibility of downgrading the academy. This just sounds like a management reshuffle rather than a real takeover.

If its a “full takeover’ ill be happy but I’m sceptical. Sounds like a shuffling to me, a restructuring.
Unless the current unsuccessful regime fully remove themselves, we won’t see change imo

Not good news. Phil Parkinson needs to go for this club to progress

Strong possibility we’ll only get 6 points or less from the next 5 games so he may not see the end of December.

How to kill me on a Monday morning… ‘Parkinson expected to stay’. 😢😢😢. Bloody hell, thanks for that 😩

Why ? What do they see in him that no one else does ? The stats don’t lie. Simply not good enough.

Such a dodgy takeover, the club won’t progress with that clown in charge.
