Sunderland’s automatic promotion hopes hang by a thread, after the Black Cats were held to a 3-3 draw with Accrington Stanley on Saturday afternoon.

The Black Cats raced into a two-goal lead on the day, as Charlie Wyke hit a brace inside the opening 11 minutes to put Lee Johnson’s side ahead.

Colby Bishop then pulled a goal back for the visitors early in the second-half, before Luke O’Nien scored an own goal to level the scores at the Stadium of Light.

Max Power then put Sunderland back in front, before Sean McConville equalised for Accrington Stanley, as the points were shared, much to the frustration of the Sunderland supporters.
