Plenty of QPR fans have been offering their opinions on the future of R's centre-back Toni Leistner with the defender's contract running out in the summer.

Clearly not part of Mark Warburton's plans, the German was sent out on loan to FC Koln in the Bundesliga in January, where he has gone on to make just four appearances.

Prior to his switch to Germany, the 29-year-old had featured 20 times for the R's though could never seem to maintain a consistent starting eleven berth, with Warburton often opting for Yoann Barbet and Grant Hall or Conor Masterson.

As the summer approaches, the QPR board will have a decision to make with regards to the defender, whether to offer him a new deal at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium, or permanently offload him.

Can you name these 15 ex-QPR right-backs? Have a go now!

Considering the way Warburton has dealt with Leistner, you'd anticipate a new deal would not be on the horizon anytime soon for the player.

So, we asked QPR fans in 'The Optimistic QPR supporters Group' on Facebook their thoughts on the situation with Leistner, and whether he should be retained or moved on.

Interestingly, there seemed to be a real split down the middle with the player, here is the reaction....

Peter Chadburn: An excellent player. Maybe we will get an offer. Looks to have done ok on his loan so far

Sonny Priske: I’m a massive leistner fan, but on about 20 grand a week for someone who’s not in the future plans, need to ship him off

James Mcgill: Yes ,too slow and not good enough

Chris Downes: Depends if hall stays or goes and if masterson keeps progressing. Barbet, Hall, leistner and masterson is a reasonable group but we seem to underperform in this area. Not sure leistner himself be happy staying if he third or even fourth option though. Think our main requirement is improved defence coaching myself. Think these four with ball or Cameron filling in, in event of injuries is fine but our defence has been very poor so there must be some explanation why because individually, I feel we are well covered in terms of abilities.

Steve Oldhamstead: Never really rated him, slow, makes a lot of mistakes and out of his depth in championship

Cameron James Millington: He wants to go back to Germany. Get some money and high earner off wage bill

Dylan Krikler: Our only player who can actually defend and we want to sell him. Don’t understand football these days

John Reddy: I think he was a honest and dedicated player. Uncompromising and never let us down with his efforts

Sam Gibb: Offer him reduced money. At least do him the decency of giving him the chance. A great player and the club should appreciate him.

Julie Hampton: Keep

Vince Harris: I think he’ll be out this summer. Warburton likes Hall and Barbet and if Masterson continues to improve then does he need to be there?

Mike Hales: Get rid. Too one-dimensional
