Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa has revealed that centre-back Ben White will step into defensive midfield in place of Kalvin Phillips against Millwall, which appears to have left many Whites fans worried.

Phillips was shown a straight red card in Leeds' 1-0 loss to QPR last weekend, meaning he faces a three-game suspension.

The 24-year-old has been a key man for the Whites this season, starting every game that he has been available for, and will be greatly missed at Elland Road tomorrow.

With Adam Forshaw injured, Leeds are short of options in defensive midfield but, speaking at a press conference ahead of the clash with Millwall, Bielsa told The Athletic's Phil Hay that White would be stepping into midfield.

The central defender has been fantastic at the heart of the Whites' backline this season and replaced Phillips in midfield against Huddersfield Town earlier this season.

The Whites won that game 2-0 but struggled to control the game, particularly in the first half.

Bielsa will be hoping that his side can exert more control against an in-form Millwall side tomorrow.

Gary Rowett's men are on a five-game unbeaten run in the Championship, winning three of those games, and have pulled themselves into contention for the play-offs.
