Peterborough United boss Darren Ferguson has announced his retained list, not only releasing a number of players but putting others up for transfer.

Darren Lyon, Ryan Tafazolli, Morgan Penfold and Lewis Freestone will all leave the club, with defender Tafazolli perhaps the highest profile player to be departing London Road.

In addition to those four, Aaron Chapman, Callum Cooke, Mark O’Hara, Isaac Buckley-Ricketts and Matt Stevens have all be transfer listed. O'Hara has been on loan with League Two champions Lincoln City, whilst Stevens has been a prolific striker in the National League during two loan spells.

Conor O’Malley and exciting left winger Marcus Maddison have had one-year options on their contracts taken up by Ferguson as he looks to go one better than their seventh place this season.

Of all the players being allowed to depart, Matt Stevens is the one that seems to be concerning most fans. The young striker hasn't been given a chance to shine at London Road, despite his prolific spells at Kettering and Slough.

It seems he's won a small section of Posh fans over, despite barely kicking a ball in anger.
