According to the Daily Mail, Charlton Athletic manager Lee Bowyer is set to sign a new deal with the club following their promotion to the Championship.

The 42-year-old has been nothing short of a resounding success since taking the reins at The Valley, steering them to two play-off finishes in two years under tough off-field conditions.

It was the 2018/19 play-off campaign that ended in jubilation for the Addicks, with Bowyer’s side defeating Sunderland by two goals to one at Wembley, to secure a long-awaited return back into the second tier.

There had been severe doubt placed on the future of Bowyer at The Valley, with the club failing to agree fresh terms with the former Leeds United midfielder, whose contract was set to run out at the end of the month.

But reports now claim that Bowyer is set to stay at Charlton and a sign a new deal with the London club, despite interest from the likes of West Bromwich Albion and Queens Park Rangers.

Here, we take a look at Charlton fans’ reactions to this significant piece of news…
