According to reports from The Sun, a host of Premier League sides are interested in making a January move for Preston North End defender Ben Davies.

The 24-year-old has established himself as a hugely important player under Alex Neil, whose side jumped up to third spot in the Sky Bet Championship table with a 5-1 win over Barnsley on Saturday afternoon.

The homegrown star made his 100th senior appearance for the Lancashire club at the weekend, and has been an ever-present in the Championship for Neil's side thus far this term.

Davies, whose contract at Deepdale runs out at the end of the next season, is now said to be attracting interest from a host of high-profile Premier League clubs.

The Sun has credited Everton, Wolves, Newcastle United and Brighton and Hove Albion with an interest in the left-sided central defender, with the latter believed to have sent scouts out to watch him in action.
