In recent weeks Leeds United have had players in wide attacking areas that have been out of form.

Namely Ezgjan Alioski and Samuel Saiz, the pair have been unable to have any real impact on matches in the final third of the pitch.

Alioski has just failed to score or contribute to a goal in his last nine matches and has just three goals and three assists all season.

Saiz, meanwhile, has two assists in his last four games but his influence has been sporadic on the left-hand side of the midfield for Marcelo Bielsa’s men this term.

That could see the United boss move to add a creative spark to get his side firing once more and ultimately usurp Norwich City back into first place in the table.

Leeds are only one point of off Norwich City who sit top of the league heading into the busy Christmas period.

But with January’s transfer window on the horizon, Bielsa could look to add to his array of attacking talent.

One player who is reportedly attracting interest from the Championship is Benfica attacker Adel Taarabt.

The former QPR man would add the necessary spark in the final third that has been missing in recent weeks for Leeds, should they be interested in the Morocco international.

With that said, we asked our team of FLW writers if they thought Leeds should consider a move for the Benfica outcast?

We discuss…

Alfie Burns

I’m not sure the Whites need this.

There’s a lot of attacking talent at Leeds this season and Taarabt wouldn’t get much game time.

To add to that, could you really see him buying into Bielsa’s demands?

Not for me.

Gary Hutchinson

Absolutely not, no.

Under no circumstances should any side wanting harmony and accord in the dressing room move for Taarabt.

He is a talent, but he’s not a team player.

There’s no way on earth Bielsa would sign him.

George Harbey

I think Leeds should steer clear of this one.

Taarabt is a livewire - one game he’s a world beater and one game he could playing like a Sunday League player.

He may have turned a corner over in Portugal, however, I think there are better options out there.

Louie Chandler

I would steer well clear.

Yes, on his day, Taraabt is a tremendous talent, but he has not been short of personal flaws either.

He could be a major disruption to the mood of the camp and it is not worth the risk.
