On a run of 10 consecutive wins in the league, you would think that Aston Villa manager Dean Smith would not even consider making any changes to a successful formula, but with 30-year-old defender James Chester back in training, maybe a freshen-up could be on the cards.

Chester has been sidelined with a knee injury for three months now, but a return to fitness could see the experienced defender come into contention over the last couple of league fixtures and into the play-offs.

So can you see Smith starting Chester as Villa head into the play-offs?

We discuss........

Benjamin Lang

"I think Chester should be given a starting place if his recovery goes to plan.

"He is an extremely talented defender who boost Villa's back line if he's played next to Mings.

"Jedinak and Tuanzebe have performed well recently, but Chester pips it for me."

Louie Chandler

"Not for me.

"Mings alongside either Tuanzebe or Hause have shown that they make an excellent pairing and I cannot see Smith shifting.

"Had Chester been in red-hot form before picking up his injury then maybe he would be in contention but Villa should keep things the same."

Sam Rourke

"He should stay on the bench for the time being.

"Mings, Hause and Tuanzebe have proved to be effective operators in the centre-back position, and it'd be unfair to oust one of them for Chester.

"The Wales international is a good option to have off of the bench for Villa."
