After an impressive 2017/18 campaign led the club to eighth, Millwall’s attention has turned to the summer transfer window, as Neil Harris makes decisions on his playing squad.

Yesterday afternoon, Millwall announced their retained list, confirming that Tim Cahill’s short return to the Den wouldn’t be extended, with the Australian set to be followed out of the exit door by Jimmy Abdou, Millwall’s long-serving midfielder.

A further nine players have been told they will be released in the near future, including the likes of Harry Toffolo, Kris Twardek, Harry Smith and Jamie Philpot.

Jason Shackell and Ben Marshall have returned to their parent-clubs, following their loan spells with Millwall, whilst the club have taken up the option to extend the contract of a number of players, including Lee Gregory.

Millwall have also offered contracts to the likes of Byron Webster, Sid Nelson and Harry Donovan.

A host of the club’s academy prospects have also agreed new deals with Millwall ahead of next season.

The club’s announcement has received plenty of reaction on social media, with Millwall’s supporters debating the club’s decisions…
