Nottingham Forest manager Martin O'Neill has recently completed his first signing as Reds manager, with Leicester City defender Yohan Benalouane arriving at the City Ground on an 18-month deal.

The Tunisian international became surplus to requirements at the King Power Stadium, and made just twelve league starts for the Foxes during his three-and-a-half year stay with the club.

Forest have been short in their defensive options this season, so the signing of the 31-year-old provides them with real depth going forward, as O'Neill looks to guide them into the play-offs.

Here, we discuss the signing of Benalouane...

George Harbey

"It's a good signing in terms of squad depth, but I really don't know what to make of this signing.

"Benalouane obviously has some quality having been a Tunisian international and part of the Leicester time that won the Premier League, but his lack of game-time in recent years concerns me.

"I think there could have been better options out there for O'Neill."

Gary Hutchinson

"I’m surprised at this move.

"He’s seemed a disruptive influence, cast aside by Leicester and then there’s the business over in Florence too.

"He’s a decent player but it’s not a move I would have seen coming.

"I hope he’s a success though."

Louie Chandler

"I am not convinced by this at all.

"From what I have seen of him, he has always looked like a reckless liability and that is the last thing Forest need right now.

"I would much rather have seen them recall Joe Worrall from Rangers."
