QPR are one of a number of sides interested in signing Sunderland midfielder Dylan McGeouch in the summer transfer window, The Northern Echo have reported.

McGeouch has endured a difficult season at Sunderland since joining from Hibernian last summer, and he may already be on his way out of The Stadium of Light.

According to reports, QPR, along with Championship rivals Blackburn and Brentford are interested in signing the midfielder, while Scottish top flight sides Rangers and Aberdeen are also said to be considering moves to bring McGeouch back north of the border.

McGeouch only signed a one year deal when he joined Sunderland, meaning he could be available on a free transfer in the summer.

So, would McGeouch be a good signing for QPR?

We asked some of our Football League World writers for their opinions.

George Brooks

"McGeouch could be good signing for QPR.

"He had a disappointing season for Sunderland last season, but you don't attract interest from a club like Rangers unless you're a good player - so he obviously has potential.

"QPR will be operating on a limited budget this summer and McGeouch could be a good signing for them on a free transfer."

Toby Wilding

"I don't think this is the best move for QPR.

"McGeouch has struggled in League One this season, so it is hard to see him making an impact if he steps up to the Championship.

"If QPR are to move further up the table they will surely have to look for better options, otherwise they could be in for another long, hard season."

Alfie Burns

“The path QPR take this summer is going to be interesting, but if they’re looking to League One for players, surely they can find better midfielders?

“McGeouch isn’t a bad player at all, but I’m not convinced he’s an upgrade on what the R’s have available to them at the moment.

“Warburton has his work cut out in the transfer window this summer and he needs to get things spot on.”
