Gary Rowett has made five changes to his Derby side for today's game against Preston following their embarrassing 4-1 defeat to Sunderland last time out.

The heavy loss extended the Rams winless run to eight games and they are now only in the top six on goal difference, although they do have a game in hand on their rivals.

Given that, Rowett felt the need to make several changes for the game at Deepdale.

Cameron Jerome, Bradley Johnson, George Thorne, Craig Forsyth and captain Richard Keogh are all dropped with Curtis Davies leading the side and Tom Huddlestone returning to the XI after suspension.

As well as the ex-Spurs man, Joe Ledley, Alex Pearce, Andre Wisdom and Dave Nugent have come into the team for the crucial clash.

However, the decision not to play Chelsea loanee Kasey Palmer angered Rams fans with the youngster impressing in recent weeks.
