Carlos Carvalhal's Sheffield Wednesday currently occupy 12th spot in the Sky Bet Championship table as it stands, after a mixed start to the season.

Carvalhal has opted to utilise a pretty much unchanged eleven for a large part of this season, and has consistently stuck with the striker partnership of Gary Hooper and Steven Fletcher.

Both players have been in excellent form so far this season, and ultimately, this has meant that fellow striker Jordan Rhodes has been condemned to the bench most match-days.

The Owls face off against a struggling Bolton Wanderers at the Macron Stadium on Saturday, so could this be the perfect time for Carvalhal to re-introduce Rhodes into the starting XI?

The writers here at Football League World have had their say.....

Chris Gallagher

Not at all!

Gary Hooper is on fire and whilst Steven Fletcher isn’t among the goals, you only have to see his all-round performance against Leeds to see how he benefits the team.

Those two are the starting pair and it won’t be changing on Saturday. Carlos Carvalhal has finally given his forwards a run and they’re repaying him. Rhodes will have to make do with the bench.

Adam Simeoni

Let him show what he can do.

It has been a tough year so far for Rhodes, who was cast aside by Middlesbrough before struggling with the Owls.

There is no denying his ability, he is a natural goal scorer, and one goal could be all it takes for the Scot to go on a mad goal run.

He should be given a shot this weekend.

George Dagless

This is the perfect game for him.

Rhodes has not looked his best at Wednesday so far this season and is clearly low on confidence in front of goal.

However, with all due respect to Bolton, the Trotters are the ideal opposition for him to start scoring against this weekend.

Gary Hooper is likely to play, but if the pair can start and score goals together then the rest of the league needs to look out.

Alfie Burns

I can’t see it.

Rhodes has not yet rediscovered his goalscoring best, with his only two goals this season coming against Bolton in the Carabao Cup.

The Scottish striker offers Sheffield Wednesday an alternative from the bench, but it is hard to see how Carlos Carvalhal could drop either Gary Hooper or Steven Fletcher, who both caused Leeds problems in the Owls’ last outing.
