Harry Redknapp has admitted he could look to bring Robbie Keane to Birmingham City this summer, as he looks to bolster his attacking options, reports the Mirror.

After helping the Blues to survival in the Sky Bet Championship last season, Redknapp agreed a one-year contract at St Andrew’s and is now looking to mould a squad capable of competing in the division next year.

David Stockdale and Marc Roberts have both been signed already by Birmingham, bolstering Redknapp’s options in both the goalkeeping department and defence.

But attentions now appear to have turned to the Blues’ attack, with the 70-year old interested in signing Preston North End’s Jordan Hugill, as well as admitting he could be tempted to move for Keane, Redknapp said: “Robbie is a player you would love to have around your football club.

“He is just a fantastic professional footballer, a great trainer, enthusiastic person, an absolutely buzzy character.

“We haven’t spoken to Robbie but I wouldn’t want to be a liar and say I’m not interested in him and then two weeks later bring him in.

“Any football club with Robbie Keane in is a better football club.

“He can bring an awful lot to any club. At the moment I haven’t done anything but it’s not an impossibility.”

Keane is currently a free agent, after the 36-year old left LA Galaxy to return to the UK in late 2016.

The striker has a wealth of experience in English football, having played for clubs including, Leeds United, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur - spending time with Redknapp at White Hart Lane.

Redknapp appears keen to add experience to his Birmingham squad, and was interested in signing former England captain, John Terry, who instead opted for a move to Aston Villa.
