With Birmingham City having a mixed start to the season, should manager Garry Monk look to supplement his current squad?

One option is Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson who is out of favour at the Emirates Stadium with new boss Unai Emery.

The defender did of course spend time at St Andrew's last season, albeit it wasn't the most fruitful of stints in the Midlands.

But under the tutelage of Garry Monk, could Jenkinson be a good addition for the Blues on loan?

We discuss.....

Maybe, Jenkinson is another of those players who seemed to on the cusp of 'making it', only to disappear without a trace.

The Blues didn't look awful against Boro this weekend, but they do need to add to the squad, something that has been challenging this summer.

Jenkinson has experience, is perhaps more suited to the second tier and crucially, is available and fits their remit.

Go for it, it can only be a positive move.

Jenkinson's career has been regressing ever since he suffered an injury during his second loan spell at West Ham.

Birmingham saw enough of the Arsenal defender last season, even though most of it was spent on the sidelines, and returning for him would be a mistake.

With high wages, proneness to injury and little confidence, Jenkinson would not be a sensible signing.

The Blues are better off sticking with Wes Harding and Maxime Colin at right-back.

George Dagless

Could be worth it.

He struggled last year for a number of reasons but could bolster a Birmingham squad that is a bit short.

If he stays fit, he is still a player worth having around and Monk will surely know that.

Jay Taylor

Yes, they should.

Birmingham still need depth to their side and additions during this loan window are needed.

Jenkinson is a former loanee at St. Andrews and wouldn’t find it too difficult to adapt to the Championship side.

His first team chances at Arsenal are limited so making a move for the defender would be a solid one.

Sam Rourke

Definitely not.

Jenkinson is someone who is too prone to injury, and the Blues cannot afford to be wasting valuable money on wages.

It's clear that the full-back has talent, but he's now had a few seasons of not pushing on and his career has somewhat stalled.
