Leeds United's injury problems have been well-documented this season, with every area of the pitch ravaged at one time or another by players being absent.

They seemed to have plenty of cover in goal, Bailey Peacock-Farrell being the number one, backed up by Chelsea stopper Jamal Blackman. Both players are more than adequate in the Championship, but a freak double injury blow saw Under 23 keeper Will Huffer make his debut.

Blackman has now returned to Chelsea to rehabilitate from his injury, whilst Peacock-Farrell in the number one with Huffer as back up. That situation won't be allowed to continue past the transfer window, with Newcastle's Karl Darlow apparently on Bielsa's post-Christmas shopping list.

Would Darlow be a significant upgrade on BPF? Or is he going to play second fiddle just like Blackman?

Our FLW experts discuss.

I think he would be a reliable addition to Leeds’ current roster of players.

Karl Darlow has Premier League experience and was playing well enough at Nottingham Forest to earn a move to Newcastle.

If he's not very good, he wouldn’t have gone up a league but having said that game time has been hard to come by and Darlow could have possibly regressed.

I think however, it would be an upgrade on Bailey Peacock-Farrell between the sticks for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

I’m not sure about a major upgrade but I think he’s the competition Peacock-Farrell needs at this time.

Darlow has experience and will, of course, be looking to take the No.1 shirt from the youngster.

It’s the type of competition a promotion-chasing club needs.

Louie Chandler

Not a major upgrade but an upgrade.

BPF has shown he has real potential but Darlow would add that vital bit of experience.

The second half of the season will be absolutely crucial and if Bielsa feels he needs a new goalkeeper then they need a new goalkeeper.

George Harbey

He’d be an exceptional signing, make no bones about it.

But he’ll get the best out of BPF too - he can learn off Darlow’s experience and could provide real competition.

What a coup he’d be, though.
