Aston Villa have been linked with a move for Leicester City striker Islam Slimani by Turkish media outlet, Ajansspor, but it's fair to say their fans are not sure at all whether it would be a good move.

Slimani is currently on loan to Fenerbahce after his £29m move to the Foxes from Sporting CP failed to bring significant results. He's scored just eight times, representing poor value for money as the club's record signing.

He spent a short time on loan at Newcastle last season, failing to find the back of the net. He's continued that poor form with just one goal for the Turkish giants in 14 appearances.

He thrived at Sporting before his move to these shores, bagging 57 times in 111 appearances, but his career has since been in rapid decline.

It seems to be one of the less likely transfer stories doing the rounds this January, which is exactly how these Aston Villa fans see it too. He'd command big wages, would surely cost a decent fee and is currently in terrible form.

As one Twitter user puts it; at least make up stories that are believable. Here's some wider reaction to the rumours...
