Nottingham Forest fans have been discussing a potential move for former midfielder Henri Lansbury, with current club Aston Villa's Premier League status hanging by a thread.

The 29-year-old made over 150 appearances for the Reds during a five-year stay at the City Ground, scoring 33 goals in all competitions.

But after spending five mixed seasons on Trentside, the midfielder joined Aston Villa in January 2017, though he has been unable to cement a place in the first-team under various managers.

Lansbury, who has made only 26 league appearances for Villa, has played only nine times in the Premier League under Dean Smith this season.

Villa look to be in real trouble at the bottom of the Premier League table - they sit 17th, one point clear of West Ham United who have a game in hand.

If Villa did go down, Forest fans have been discussing whether they would look to take Lansbury back, or whether that ship has well and truly sailed.
