‘Not a chance’ – Many Leeds United fans react amid transfer links to Premier League player

Plenty of Leeds United fans have discussed the potential of former England international Joe Hart signing for the club this summer.

Former England number one Hart has somewhat slipped off the radar over the last couple of seasons, becoming second choice keeper at Premier League side Burnley.

After spending the most successful stint of his career with Manchester City, where he won two Premier League titles, Hart moved on to join Sean Dyche’s side in 2018, but he has found paying time hard to come by, making just 24 appearances in all competitions.

At 33, Hart is relatively young but top flight status is unknown at present with his contract set to end in June with the Turf Moor outfit.

Interest has emerged from Leeds United, who are seemingly keen to find a regular and consistent number one ahead of what looks increasingly likely to be a Premier League campaign next term.

Sitting top of the Championship at present, Marcelo Bielsa’s side will be keen for football to return to cement a place in England’s top flight.

WHO IS THE PLAYER?

Looking into a potential move for Hart to Elland Road, Football League World’s Ben Crump asked Leeds fans via Facebook group ‘All Leeds Aren’t We!!!’ – “Would you welcome Joe Hart at the club and would he be a starter?”, and below are just some of the responses…Spaniard Kiko Casilla has been the preferred option for Bielsa this season in between the sticks, but a link to Hart could see that change ahead of the 2020/2021 season.

Steve Jack: No….Liability…!!!

Mitch Smith: He would be the best keeper we’ve had for years

Becca Whippet Hall: Yeah give him a try

Jack Tierney: Not a chance doesn’t fit our style of play, needs to be good with his feet

Jasper Noble-Myers: No No No

Steve Preece: Mr B might make him the goalkeeper he was so might not be a bad signing MOT

Gary Bashforth: No thanks not the man for Leeds

Steven Coburn: I would

Steve Page: No change
