Norwich City defender Martin Olsson is set to be investigated by the FA after pushing referee Simon Hooper in the weekend defeat versus Wolves.

Television cameras showed Olsson appear to push the referee in the chest following his dismissal in the 60th minute.

The Independent has this afternoon reported that the FA have received a formal complaint with regards to the incident and they will make a formal assessment within the next few days.

They could decide to give the Swedish international a longer ban than the one-match suspension that he will already serve for being sent off.

Canaries manager Neil Adams admitted that he did not witness the incident, but said that he would speak with Olsson after reviewing the footage.

"I haven't seen it and hopefully there is nothing in it," he told The Independent.

"But we will have a look at it and see what it is and if there are any consequences from that.

"I will speak to Martin about that. Of course I will. I didn't see it because as soon as the card comes out you're looking away to what you are going to do. But I will have a look at it.

"The officials have said nothing to us about any alleged hands on and like I say I have not seen it for now. We will get the footage going back on the coach.

"But there has been nothing said or suggested to me as of yet from that. We will need to make inquiries if something has happened."

Norwich lost the game 1-0 thanks to a Dave Edwards header in the 64th minute.
