Brighton, Norwich City, and Watford are reportedly set for a summer transfer battle over Bristol City striker Saikou Janneh.

The 21-year-old made his debut for the Robins earlier this month and has featured from the bench in all of their last three games.

Janneh came through non-league before being snapped up by City in 2018 and then showcasing his quality on loan at Torquay United – scoring 18 goals and 15 assists as he helped them claim the National League South title in 2018/19.

Injuries have hampered his progress since but he is now back fully fit and has fought himself into contention at Ashton Gate.

It seems it's not only those at the Bs3 club that are impressed, however, with The Sun reporting that Brighton, Norwich, and Watford are all interested.

It is understood that alongside German sides Hertha Berlin and Bayer Leverkusen, the three English clubs could make a move for Janneh in the upcoming window.

The report claims that City boss Nigel Pearson is determined to keep the 21-year-old at the club and feels he has a bright future.

The verdict

Janneh looks an exciting prospect and someone the Ashton Gate faithful will be hoping to see a lot more of moving forward.

This will likely be cause for concern for City fans, with clubs circling one of their bright young talents ahead of the summer window.

With Antoine Semenyo, Han-Noah Massengo, and Tyreeq Bakinson all reportedly generating interest from elsewhere, it seems the Robins could be busy trying to keep hold of their young talents in the upcoming window.

Pearson has a rebuilding job on his hands at Ashton Gate, should he pen a new deal with the club, and he'll want a raft of their young up-and-coming players to be part of that.
