Norwich are set to target Hannover captain Marvin Bakalorz in the summer transfer window, as they continue their preparations for a return to the Premier League next season.

Bakalorz has made 87 appearances for Hannover in three years at the club, but he is now set to leave the German side following their relegation from the Bundesliga after two years in the country's top flight.

With Bakalorz' contract set to expire at the end of the season, it seems he could now be set to leave the club, and it appears the Premier League is a possible destination.

According to German site Fussball Transfers, Norwich are interested in signing the 29-year-old, who has also been offered a new contract by his current club.

Canaries boss Daniel Farke has already enjoyed success with signings from his native Germany, with players such as Mario Vrancic, Marko Stiepermann and Onel Hernandez all playing key roles in Norwich's title success this season.

The Verdict

Given Farke's success when dipping into the German market, it is perhaps no surprise to see him heading back there now.

There may be some concern about the fact that Bakalorz has just been relegated from the German top flight, but Farke has yet to give anyone a reason not to trust his judgement at Carrow Road, and Norwich fans will be hoping Bakalorz can have a similar impact to those other players brought in from Germany.
