Norwich City host their bitter rivals Ipswich Town on Sunday afternoon and there is no doubt that James Maddison will be top of the list of danger men Mick McCarthy will be out to stop.

Former Coventry man has been in scintillating form in recent months and caused promotion chasing Derby County no end of problems last weekend, during a 1-1 draw at the IPro Stadium that the Canaries could easily have emerged from with all three points.

The playmaker got the winner when Daniel Farke's side left Portman Road with all three points in the reverse fixture in October, firing home the only goal in a 1-0 victory and looking ahead to Sunday's clash, has displayed his growing confidence.

He told the club's website that his performance will not be affected by the lively atmosphere. He said: "I got my first taste of it at Portman Road, and it wasn't a bad one!

"I've got a strong character, I'm strong-minded. If opposition fans boo me, it drives me on even more and makes me play better. It will be a different game to earlier in the season.

"We'll go into it wanting to take the game to Ipswich, like we did against Derby. We're in good form and want to show that."

The Verdict

Norwich will count themselves as favourites in Sunday's midday clash and one of the main reasons is the form of Maddison, who has his tenth goal of the season after converting from the spot last weekend.

If intimidation won't stop him, it is tough to see Ipswich living with him - Derby have a good defence and they struggled - and he might just make the difference on Sunday.
