The second tier of the English game is home to a plethora of top talent, with the division often proving to harbour as much talent as some of the top flight leagues around Europe.

One team that has often poached the division for talent are Scottish giants Celtic, with Brendan Rodgers men strengthening their grip on the game north of the border with imports from the second level of English football.

Scott Sinclair and Moussa Dembele are just two stars to switch the league for the Scottish top flight, and have gone on to become top quality players under Rodgers at the famous Parkhead Stadium.

Rodgers could return again in the near future as his side prepare for what looks likely to be a Europa League campaign in the second half of the season, and here are three men the former Liverpool boss could target in January.

Kamil Grosicki

A regular starter for World Cup qualifiers Poland, Grosicki slips under the radar at Hull City, but can arguably be considered one of the most consistent performers in the second tier this season.

Five goals and four assists in the league have provided the Tigers with a bright light in what has been a dismal season, and Rodgers may consider a swoop to bolster his squad ahead of a tough second half of the season.

Grosicki looks a dead cert for a place on the plane to Russia, but the possibility of playing in Europe could convince the winger that his international future will be assured, so a switch to Glasgow could appeal.

Nelson Oliveira

The Norwich striker has been linked with moves away from Carrow Road on multiple occasions, but the Portuguese international remains a key cog in Daniel Farke’s side.

With World Cup aspirations of his own, Oliveira may view a switch to a European contender as a positive step towards a place on the plane to Russia alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and co., and Rodgers should have the cash reserves to stump up enough funds to convince Farke to sell.

Oliveira would clean up in Scotland and could easily earn himself a top flight move within a year, so should strongly consider any offer that came his way from north of the border.

Andy Yiadom

Close to a Premier League switch to Swansea in the summer, Yiadom could emerge as a potential target for Brendan Rodgers.

With Kieran Tierney’s future up in the air amidst Premier League interest, Rodgers could be in the market for a full-back, and Yiadom could prove to be the perfect replacement for the impressive young Scot should he depart in the coming months.

Yiadom should be available for a reasonable fee, certainly much less than the one Celtic will demand for Tierney, so picking up the Ghanaian could prove a shrewd piece of business by the Celtic boss.
