Norwich City are on the verge of announcing the transfer of Ignasi Miquel from Arsenal.
The Daily Mail understands that the Spanish defender has passed a medical and the move to Carrow Road will be announced later this evening.
The Canaries are set to pay around £1.5 million for the 21-year-old.
Although seen as a hot prospect by Arsenal, manager Arsene Wenger wants to get rid of Miquel in order to make room in the squad for a replacement for Thomas Vermaelen, who joined Barcelona earlier in the summer.
A former Barça player himself, Miquel spent last season on loan at Leicester City, but only made seven appearances as the Foxes stormed to the Championship title.
It had initially been thought that he would join Norwich on loan but the Norfolk club have insisted on a permanent deal.
