Norwich City and Ajax are keeping their tabs on Chelsea youngster Mason Mount ahead of a possible summer move, according to The Mirror's Live Transfer Blog [13th May, 08:52AM].

Mount has been impressing scouts during his loan stint with Vitesse Arnhem this season and Chelsea might consider loaning him out again next term.

The 19-year-old has played 31 games for the Dutch outfit in the Eredivisie this year, racking up an impressive tally of 13 goals and nine assists.

He has a further one assist in six Europa League games.

Ajax, having witnessed his talent firsthand in the Dutch top division, now want the attacking midfielder this summer.

Norwich will provide competition for the England youth international's signature but it is not clear whether Chelsea will sanction another loan deal.

Mount was part of England's under-19 squad that won the European Championship title and Chelsea hold with high regard.

He currently has a long-term contract at Stamford Bridge, running for three more years until the summer of 2021.

Norwich are eyeing the starlet on loan and he could be seen as a replacement for James Maddison, who is being targeted by a number of Premier League clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Verdict

Mount would be a like-for-like replacement for Maddison at Norwich but he would only be a short-term solution.

The teenager's performances in Holland suggest that he is ready to play a starring role in the Championship.

Mount is considered to be a future England star in the making and Norwich could take advantage of this in the immediate future.
