Norwich City host Ipswich Town this weekend in the Old Farm derby in the Championship.

The East Anglia derby as it is perhaps more officially known has certainly thrown up some classics in recent times and this could potentially be another.

Indeed, both protagonists have chances of getting into the top six but no more slip-ups can be afforded and so the loser could effectively be knocked out of the play-off race.

That just adds to the already sizeable task that awaits both clubs at Carrow Road this weekend, then, and Daniel Farke has said that his players are more than aware of the size of the game.

Indeed, in quotes used by pinkun.com, Farke has talked up the clash and said that his players are motivated in comments that fans will surely like reading.

He said:

“We know how big it is.

“It is important for me to find a good balance. To be concentrated and make the players concentrated on the topics.

“We need quality, not just passion, but it also helps if the players feel how important it is for everyone who works at the club and the supporters.

“It gives them extra motivation."

It's a big game, then, and whoever handles the pressure best will surely win out.

The Verdict

This is a big game for both as one can knock the other out of the play-off race for good.

Norwich have the form, recent head-to-head advantage and the home crowd on their side for this one but it's a derby, and so anything, of course, can happen.
