Norwich City manager Daniel Farke is hoping that his players can use the international break as an opportunity to prepare for their final eight matches of the Championship season.

Farke's side extended their lead at the top of the Championship table to four points over second-placed Sheffield United at the weekend, with a 2-1 win at relegation-threatened Rotherham United.

The Championship club tweeted this video earlier today, with Farke giving his thoughts on the two-week break from domestic action.

The verdict

Norwich have been brilliant in the Championship all season and are in with a great chance of achieving automatic promotion to the Premier League.

The international break appears to have come at a crucial time in the club's season, with the Canaries currently on a six-match winning streak and fans will be hoping their side can continue that momentum after the break.

Farke's side now have just under two weeks to prepare for their next clash against play-off chasing Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium and the players now have a valuable opportunity to recover from the demanding physical test of playing three matches in eight days.

However, Norwich also have several keys players involved in international matches over the next two weeks, including top scorer Teemu Pukki and Farke is right to be hoping that these players can stay clear of injury, ahead of the crucial eight-match run-in that looks set to define the club's season.
