Norwich City aren't back in the Premier League just yet but they are edging ever nearer and will surely get there in the end.

Another draw on Monday saw the title-parade put on hold for a little longer but things remain firmly in their hands and a Premier League berth is still on the cards.

Should they make the top-flight, they are going to want to strengthen, too, but it would appear that they will only do so on a pretty modest budget.

According to the Daily Mail, the Yellows will have £20m to spend as they look to keep things financially ship-shape as well as challenge to stay afloat in the Premier League.

Fans, then, might be a little concerned by reading that - they will want their club to have a go in the top-flight - but, actually, overall they should be pretty pleased reading this.

Yes, they could spend big in order to stay up but they've got decent players at the club already; the squad doesn't need a major overhaul.

It will need more depth but, even so, spending big doesn't guarantee success - look at Fulham's shocker this year.

Time and again, and not just in the Premier League, we have seen sides go big with the spending in order to attain a goal and it has backfired spectacularly - seeing them sail close to the wind financially.

Norwich, for sure, can survive in the league next season with the right additions and, if they do go down, at least it appears they won't be lumbered with high-wages and a real deficit on the books.

It might seem unambitious but it's clever and actually seems a risk that, in the long-run, could pay-off whether they stay in the top-flight at the end of next year or not.
