Norwich City could be without a number of key players for this weekend’s clash with Leeds United at Carrow Road.

Daniel Farke’s side were lifted by a midweek victory over Preston North End, with the Canaries picking up their first three points of the season.

However, Michael Bailey from Eastern Daily Press has provided an update on a number of Tuesday night’s side.

Grant Hanley, Norwich’s captain, is carrying a knock, whilst Ivo Pinto is suffering from a bug.

Farke is also concerned about a number of other senior players who had a broken pre-season.

Jordan Rhodes and Alex Tettey are amongst those.

Norwich are sitting mid-table following Wednesday night’s victory, but in Leeds they will face a stern test at Carrow Road.

Leeds, who are coached by Marcelo Bielsa, have one of the Championship’s unbeaten records at this early stage of the season, which has seen them pick up 10 points from a possible 12.

Whilst Norwich picked up three points during the week, Saturday’s opponents were held by Swansea City on Tuesday.

Bielsa’s side came from behind twice to draw 2-2 with the Swans at the Liberty Stadium.

The Verdict

This is a blow for Norwich, who will have been hoping to build on their midweek victory.

Hanley is perhaps their biggest loss, with the centre-back and captain key for Farke’s side.

Tettey and Rhodes are also crucial parts of the Norwich spine and losing either would be a blow.

This could be a cruel blow for Norwich ahead of a tricky afternoon.
