Norwich City have enjoyed a superb season so far, with Daniel Farke's side on course to win promotion back to the Premier League with relative ease.

To have the team in a position where they can bounce back immediately shows the quality of the German coach, and he will be delighted at how his players have performed.

For the fans, they are delighted with the approach the team have. Since Farke's arrival there has been a real emphasis on bringing through youth players, with the Yellows now recognised as a great place for youngsters to develop.

As well as that, they have a renowned academy, with some members of the current squad having risen through the ranks at Carrow Road.

And, with the help of Transfermarkt, we have looked at the TEN youngest ever goalscorers at Norwich in the relatively modern era...

One of the players who has made his mark from the academy on the current team is Max Aarons. The right-back has been outstanding for a few years now, and it already seems a matter of time before he makes the next step up in his career.

Whatever happens though, the defender will have a real affection with the Canaries, and his goal in the League Cup against Cardiff City in 2018, when Aaron's was 18 years, 7 months and 24 days old, puts him in the top ten on this list.

The 21-year-old has three more goals for the Norfolk outfit since then.

Next, Ben Godfrey was a teammate of Aarons until he joined Everton ahead of the current campaign.

The centre-back joined the club from York City in 2016, and whilst he had to go out on loan to get regular football at first, Godfrey would become a key figure as they won promotion.

Like Aarons, his first goal would come in the League Cup in 2016, when Godfrey struck in the 6-1 win over Coventry City aged 18 years, 7 months and 8 days. It would be a while until he established himself as a regular, but that goal and performance was a sign of the quality the current Everton man has.

The winger, along with twin Jacob, had a huge reputation when coming through the ranks, and he has gone on to have a good career, which has seen him play in the Premier League and he now features for Cardiff.

The talent of Murphy was evident as a youngster, when, aged 18 years and 7 months, he scored in the League Cup against Watford as the Canaries would go on to come from 2-0 down to progress to the next round. That was the first of 18 goals for the club for Murphy, who made 100 appearances for the club before signing for the Bluebirds.

Another academy graduate who is playing elsewhere in the Championship takes us to Korey Smith.

The Swansea midfielder came through at Norwich, going on to make over 70 appearances for the Yellows, which included a key role as they won promotion from League One in 2010.

Smith's first goal arrived at the start of that campaign, when he scored in the win over Wycombe aged 18 years, 6 months and 22 days. That would be one of four goals in the title-winning season, which were the only strikes the player had before he left for Oldham after a few loan spells elsewhere.

The sixth player on the list is yet another who came through at Norwich but is now playing in the Championship - Chris Martin.

The striker would go on to make over 100 appearances for the club, scoring 34 goals, and the first of those came against Blackpool in the 2007 FA Cup fourth round when the target man was 18 years, 3 months and 9 days old.

Whilst he had a decent record for Norwich, things didn't perhaps go to plan for Martin at Carrow Road, but he has since shone at this level with Derby over the years, and he is now at Bristol City.

The start of the top five is a player who starred for Norwich City in the 90s, Darren Eadie. The left midfielder was another product of the academy system, and he impressed the fans over a six-year period from 1993 until he would depart for Leicester City.

The first of his 39 goals for the club came against QPR in the Premier League in a 2-2 draw, when Eadie was just 18 years, 3 months and 8 days. It was evident from that day that the Canaries had produced another quality performer from their ranks, with the Chippenham-born player going on to make over 200 appearances in yellow.

The fourth youngest scorer for Norwich is another academy graduate, with Justin Fashanu's effort against Leeds United in a 2-2 draw back in March 1979 earning his place on this list.

The forward was just 18 years and 12 days old when he helped the team to a point, and he would go on to score 35 goals in 90 games for the club before he left for Nottingham Forest in 1981. Such form saw Fashanu rewarded with international recognition as he would go on to win 11 caps for the England U21 side, although he didn't play for the senior team despite his ability.

The third youngest scorer for the Championship leaders is Dale Gordon.

The right-midfielder may not be a name that some fans recognise now, but he was an influential player back in the 80s, with Gordon going on to make over 200 appearances for Norwich before leaving for Rangers in 1991.

Despite growing up an Ipswich Town fan, Gordon would make his mark for their rivals as a youngster, with his first goal coming in a memorable 4-2 win over high-flying Everton in the top-flight back in November 1984, when he was just 17 years, 10 months and 15 days old. That was a huge win at the time, with the Toffees one of the top teams in the country.

Next on the list is Ian Henderson, who came through the ranks at Carrow Road in 2002, and he's still going strong now, with the forward part of the Salford team that is looking to win promotion from League Two.

Henderson is on course for 200 goals in his career, and the first of those came as a Norwich player when they were beaten 4-2 by Wimbledon back in November 2002. At 17 years, 9 months and 9 days old, that effort may not have brought any points, but it was a huge day for the player, and he is the second youngest scorer for Norwich.

Beating Henderson by many months is the club's youngest ever scorer; Ryan Jarvis.

The Fakenham-born midfielder was another who came through the ranks and he became the youngest-ever player for Norwich when he made his debut in 2003 at Walsall in the First Division.

Another record would follow next season, when Jarvis struck against Watford aged just 17 years, 4 months and 4 days old. Unfortunately for the Canaries, it wouldn't prevent the team losing 2-1, but it was a memorable day for Jarvis, and his record still stands to this day, even though he would only go on to make 38 appearances for Norwich.
