Norwich City weighing up transfer swoop for 16-goal attacker

According to HITC Sport, Sky Bet Championship club Norwich City are interested in signing non-league youngster Matty Allan from Histon.

The forward, who plays predominantly on the wing, has impressed this season, scoring 16-goals for struggling Histon.

Allan has come through the ranks at Histon, but will become a free agent in the summer, with Norwich City and Crystal Palace reportedly scouting the 19-year old.

The recent success of Jamie Vardy and Andre Gray, who both played non-league football, has alerted clubs in the Premier League and Championship to players like Allan.

Vardy famously won the Premier League with Leicester City last season, just four years after playing non-league football with Fleetwood Town.

Allan is set for a difficult few months with Histon, as he sets about helping the club avoid relegation from the Evo-Stick Southern 1 Central league.

Histon are currently 21st in the league table, occupying the second relegation place, and are five-points adrift of safety.
