Norwich City are said to be interested in signing Aston Villa midfielder Conor Hourihane, as per a recent report by Football Insider.
The 30-year-old Irishman is currently out on loan with Sky Bet Championship side Sheffield United and could well be tempted by a move back to the Premier League if the opportunity arose in January.
His former Villa boss Dean Smith has just taken charge at Carrow Road and is said to have already identified Hourihane as one of the first players he would like to sign at the turn of the new year as he seeks to keep the Canaries in the top flight.
Hourihane has played eight times for the Blades so far this term and has largely struggled to nail down a starting spot since his move to Bramall Lane.

Meanwhile his contract with Villa is now into it’s final year, which means he could potentially depart on a free transfer next summer if an agreement over a new deal cannot be reached between the two parties.
Hourihane is a player that Smith knows very well from his time at Villa and it is clear that their relationship is still strong despite the coach moving on.
The midfielder’s spell with the Blades hasn’t exactly gone to plan and for that reason he could be keen on a fresh start come January.
Norwich offer Premier League football and a potential starting spot, whilst Sheffield United are struggling to even make it into the running for promotion this season.
If his playing time doesn’t increase at Bramall Lane, we could well see him rock up at Norfolk in favour of a another link up with Smith come the turn of the new year.
It will be intriguing to see how this saga pans out as we get closer to January.
