Norwich City transfer agreement could hand one-way ticket to 26-year-old out of Carrow Road

Norwich City confirmed less than a week ago that Emiliano Buendia is now a Canary after signing from Spanish side Getafe.

The young forward spent last season on loan at Cultural Leonesa in the Spanish Segunda as he scored six goals in 40 appearances.

He’ll have to deliver a better return than that if he is to help Norwich improve on their goal-scoring record from last season but, at the same time, could his arrival mark the end of Nelson Oliveira’s stay at the club?

In our latest Domino Effect Deal, we’re considering whether that could be the case.

Oliveira, on paper, is the better player but last season he was inconsistent at best and there was friction between him and Daniel Farke from early on in the campaign.

Indeed, he could not nail a place down in the German’s side despite his obvious ability and you have to wonder whether the likes of Buendia could be paving the way for an exit for the Portuguese.

Potentially, the Yellows might be wise in bringing in a more established footballer in the Championship if they are to let Oliveira go this summer but if Farke can acquire such signings, there might be an opening for the 26-year-old to move on.

Perhaps, then, the striker will be bidding the club farewell later on this summer with Buendia – rather fittingly – meaning good day in Spanish.
