Norwich City to demand Championship record fee as Liverpool and Spurs continue to track midfielder

Championship side Norwich City could be set to ask for a club record fee for star midfielder James Maddison, according to a report in the Hull Daily Mail.

Maddison has been the star for the Canaries this season, delivering both goals and assists for Daniel Farke’s men despite their season as a whole being somewhat of a disappointment so far.

However, Norwich are preparing to receive more bids in the summer for Maddison, but will demand a fee in excess of £30m if the report is to be believed.

A fee in that region would equal or eclipse the sum paid by Spurs for French midfielder Moussa Sissoko a few seasons ago, and the Canaries will believe they are well within their rights to demand such a fee with the recent inflated market around players in January.

Maddison, who signed on at Carrow Road following an impressive spell with Coventry City, would no doubt relish a move to the Premier League if the chance comes along, but it remains to be seen whether any of the big names in the top flight will stump up the money for the gifted midfielder.
