Norwich City target rubbishes talk of a move to Carrow Road

Norwich City target Tyronne Ebuehi has played down rumours that previously suggested he’d signed a pre-contract agreement with the Canaries, according to a report on Dutch site Omroepwest

The 21-year-old current plays his football for Dutch Eredevisie side ADO Den Haag, but his future at the club has come under scrutiny with ongoing interest from several clubs.

A player who works his magic as a left-sided full-back, making use of his pace, dribbling and tackling abilities that have made him out to be one of the Eredevisie’s hottest prospects.

With his contract set to expire in the summer, his current club are doing everything they can to tie the youngster down to another deal, but with interest caving in it’s added mounds of pressure on the Dutch side.

The defender spoke to Dutch press as his shed light on his current situation:

“I’m enjoying myself here. I still learn every day. If I can sign here, I would really like to do that. But I am also just honest. I do not think the offer I received is very good, I think some rumours are pretty funny.”

“I would have signed a pre-contract. That is not true either.”

Indeed, it looks to be out of Norwich City’s hands with them facing stiff competition from Portuguese gianst Benfica to secure the services of the 21-year-old, after being linked this week.

The verdict

A player who would definitely bolster the Norwich side.

In a position that is short on full-back coverage, the addition of the highly-rated defender would be a breathe of fresh air for the Canaries.

After seeing Martin Ollson work wonders down the wing in yesteryear, the addition of the Nigerian defender would be one of similarity to the Swede.
