Norwich moved to within one point of the Championship summit following another late victory over promotion rivals Swansea City at Carrow Road on Saturday.

It means that four of the Canaries previous five wins have come courtesy of a goal in the final 10 minutes - this time Marco Stiepermann was the matchwinner, thumping home a sweetly-struck left-footed strike with six minutes remaining.

However, it wasn't a perfect afternoon for Daniel Farke, who saw right-back Max Aarons suffer a head injury against the Swans, whilst captain Grant Hanley was complaining about a hamstring problem.

The duo were called up for international duty with England Under-21s and Scotland respectively, but the pair will now remain at Norwich's Lotus Training Centre and work closely with the medical team in a bid to be fit for the Canaries Championship trip to Middlesbrough on Saturday week.

It's a major blow to Hanley, who would have been hoping to have been part of the Scotland squad aiming to qualify for their first major tournament since the 1998 World Cup when they take on Serbia on Thursday with a place at Euro 2020 at stake.

The Verdict

At first glance, this would appear extremely bad news for Norwich and Farke - with Aarons and Hanley two of their more important players, but it might not be as it seems.

It's unclear whether the pair are actually injured or it's just precaution and Norwich are protecting them by keeping them at home.

Whatever the case, following a hectic October schedule, the pair will be getting a well-deserved rest.
